My name is Cameron Mohan, and I’m in my Final Semester of the Middle Years Ed program at University of Regina. I did my third year Pre-Internship teaching grade 6 at Palliser Heights School (Prairie South School Division) in Moose Jaw and my fourth year Internship teaching grade 8 at St. Agnes School (Holy Trinity Catholic), also in Moose Jaw.
I have a good deal of experience working with middle years students both in and out of the classroom. Apart from my teaching field experiences, I’ve also worked as a full-time Educational Assistant from May 2011 – June 2012 in Manitoba, and as a casual EA substitute in the Moose Jaw area (Prairie South School Division) since then, while in university. Additionally, I’ve spent every summer for the past 10 years working at various camps, including the last six summers as the Program Director at Lakeshore Camp in Manitoba, and Katepwa Lake Camp (near Fort Qu’Appelle). Also, I spent four years working part time as the Youth Director at a church in Winnipeg where I organized and lead a youth group/drop in for community youth of various ages.
I’ve always been passionate about impacting kids and want to continue doing that through the medium of education. I’ve chosen education because I recognize the correlation between the level of education a child receives and the choices they make. I love helping students reach their potential!
